Taxi Service in Morgantown

Jason | January 2nd, 2009

Taxi service and the ability to get a taxi in a timely manner is an important issue to many students. Please share your thoughts on how taxi service can be improved in Morgantown… I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

I know when I go out to have a good time.. i want to make sure I get home safe. I know several SGA members, including Parsons and Ramsey, and know they will help out taxi services, and ultimately increase the safety of night life in Morgantown.

Thanks Palmer for your comment… Please have Jim Tom comment as well, I know he takes advantage of the taxi service, too.

It is with high regard I want to congratulate everyone involved in this issue for FINALLY providing a solution for the longest-lingering hangover in Morgantown since the 2007 Pitt loss.

I envisioned such solutions several years ago in my short-lived SGA platform for this Taxi Service Trauma & I just want to say God Bless each person who has aided in healing this colossal problem.

While the drinking may never stop in Morgantown, its with incredible satisfaction to know the drinking & driving will be subsided courtesy of the measures taken here.

Cheers to the hope of calling 304.292.7441 won’t be hell on earth anymore in 2009 and beyond.

I agree with adam’s statement 100%. Having SGA work on something that has a profound impact on students lets me know that my votes have NOT gone to waste. Thank goodness they represent the West Virginia values of faith, family, and hard work that each Mountaineer holds close to their heart.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. The taxi service here is abysmal. On a given night, there are only six cabs servicing a town of about 30,000 people. The yellowcab office is rude and impatient and it is so hard to get them to take our money.

Coming from a big city like Washington DC, it is extremely hearth wrenching to wait for a cab for three hours on a Saturday night. It is just plain unacceptable.

I have found that the best solution to get a cab is to find a taxi driver and take his cell phone. My friends and I all have a favorite cab driver and he will come to pick us up night or day within 15 minutes of calling him.
