a.President Zuccari
Whitney and I have been working on SGA across campus and a schedule will be released soon
Gold Rush shirt sales will begin this week
Census Committee, Daniel Brummage is Chairing

b.Vice President Peters
Ropes course for September 19th has been canceled
Meetings with Governors on September 8th from 2:00- 5:00
There will be a bus running from the lair to the Wine and Jazz Festival again this year

Glad to see a packed house tonight

Has started an alumni directory of former SGA members

The timeline is out for this year’s elections, both homecoming and SGA elections

There will be a Maniac blood drive tomorrow in the mountainlair
Next Friday is fan fest and shirts will be given out then

Staff Council has expressed that the university smoking policy needs to be readdressed
Downtown fitness classes will be offered this fall

President Clements will be taken on a tour of student health, he supports the new student health center

Grant applications for student government orgs grants will be available in the student orgs office this week and availability online is to follow

V.Open Student Forum I

- Where will the downtown fitness classes be?
They will be held in Stansbury

- Barbara Angeletti, Recycling Coordinator (Governor Richmond)
-The Blue and Gold sale was a success last year with over $16,000 dollars in sales going to the United Way
-The We Can project is looking for more volunteers to work the recycling at the football games this year. In the past, the project has collected 16 tons of recycling material in 20 games

Bought a bus with the international program to pick up international students at the airport
SGA both will have a both during diversity week
Restarted the study abroad club this summer and hopefully a scholarship will be available through the club for study abroad

Platform is self-defense committees
Will be inviting President Clements and his family to fight like a girl at the rec center
Will be starting a self-defense committee

Platform is teacher evaluations
Will be working on moving these evaluation onto star and opening them up to the students

Platform is advising and university 101

Platform is student organization
The 1st annual Student organization week will be in November this year

Platform is advising and Greek life
Trying to implement a self-defense class targeted toward sororities
Would like to implement peer mentoring at WVU

Platforms are transportation, sustainability, and residence hall visitation
The Orange line will be making 30 minute trips to the University town center and will no longer be going to the mall

Yielded the floor to SAFE RIDE
1.Proposed a student taxi service specifically to keep drunk students off of the road.
2.A resolution will be debated at next weeks meeting

- Barbara Bailey: Great to see all of the student here
– Ian: Thinks that the university should be using more recycled products in the dining areas of the Mountainlair

- Don Sass: Asks the board to consider Tort Law before putting its seal on a university taxi type service such as SAFE RIDE

– Governor Kast: SGA will be having themed meeting to encourage student orgs to attend
