-Vice President Napier called the meeting to order.

President Parsons
-The WVU BOG asked SGA to compile a list of qualities they look for in a future President.
-Attended a Student Wellness Initiative meeting.
-Will be meeting with Jen Fisher and Governor Thomaselli about PhotoVoice.
-There was a press conference this morning. SGA announced its community initiative.
-Introduced Ryan Combs.
-We will have more information about Engage ‘08 next week.
-Has had several conversations with members of the House and Senate.
-If anyone has had an issue with a towing company, please come to student government and speak up.
-On Monday, we kicked off the United Way campaign.
-Tonight, the Mountaineer Maniacs are here. They will make the first donation to the campaign.
-James Bailey-Maniac Director: donated $500 to the United Way campaign. They will be taking donations at the Maniac Watch Party tomorrow night.
Vice President Napier
-Continuing to work on the wellness initiative.
-Working with Jen Fisher about setting up the Senior Leadership meeting.
Attorney General Gutta

-Absent.

Director of Communications Peters
-All are invited to the SGA Oliverio’s Social. It will be next Tuesday at 7:30pm.
Director of Greek Affairs Curry
-Absent.
Executive Secretary Poling
-Attend the Council on Social Justice meeting.
-Diversity Week will be October 13-18th.
Elections Chair Dobson
-The first round of judging for Homecoming Queen ended today.
-The court will be announced Monday.
Elections Chair Golomb
-Absent.
Maniac Director Bailey
-There will be a Watch Party tomorrow night for the WVU vs. Colorado football game.
Outreach Director Judy
-No report.
Outreach Director Yachini
-Has been working on Engage ‘08.
Off-Campus Housing Director Fink
-Absent.
Treasurer Greenberg
-BLGT Mountaineers: Assist in covering registration and lodging costs to attend national conference. Asking for $500. Time sensitive: Grant Passed.
-Delta Sigma Pi: Assist in covering travel costs to attend weekend seminar in Boston. Asking for $500. Time sensitive: Grant Passed.
-Marketing Club: Assist in covering travel costs for a bus trip to Pittsburgh for a tour of the marketing department at Bayer. No representative present.
V.Open Student Forum I
-Governor Zuccari asked for donations to the United Way campaign.
VI.Old Business
Office of Student Employment: Susan Lance
-Previously, students did not have a central location to find jobs on and off campus.
-You must sign up for their services.

-There are roughly 1,000 on-campus jobs.
-They are currently working with over 200 off-campus businesses.
-The Office of Student Employment is currently located in the Career Services Center.

A. Sustainability Presentation: Clement Soloman
-The sustainability initiative involves environmental, economic, and social components.
-Establishing a sustainability committee that will include SGA and student affairs.
-Looking at conserving electricity, saving water, etc.

Governor Fortunato
-No report.
Governor France
-Absent.
Governor Mathias
-Sorority recruitment is this week.
-On October 12th, the Panhellenic Council will be attending the Women’s soccer game.
-Meeting with VP Napier this Friday about advising issues.
Governor McCulloch
-Fraternity recruitment is complete.
-In 2007, there were 158 pledges.
-There are 278 pledges this year.
-Plans on writing a mission statement and summary of recruitment techniques.
-Will try to persuade the IFC to incorporate the Fraternity Recruitment Initiative.
-Excited to jump back into Club Sports Funding.
Governor Miller
-The SHAB 5k is this Saturday. Registration is $5.
Governor Mitchell
-Absent.
Governor Pearson
-Attended the Morgantown Pedestrian Safety Board Meeting. If anyone knows of an area that needs better lighting or sidewalks, please let him know.
-If you ever have input on any platforms that SGA is working on, please speak up.
Governor Perry
-Student Connections meetings are at 6:30 before the SGA meetings.
-The executives attended the Student Connections meeting this week.
-Next week, Student Connections will not meet. The Governors and Executives will meet to come up with SGA’s mission statement.
Governor Ramsey
-No report.
Governor Richmond
-No report.
Governor Rogers
-Presidential Search Committee Applications were due last Friday. More than 150 applications were received.
-23 were chosen for an interview.
-SGA will approve the 2 students chosen on September 24th.
-This morning, SGA signed a commitment to the Sunnyside Up Campaign.
Governor Seitz
-Met with Spencer Graham of WVU Television. Discussed music at the PRT stations and information updates on the TV screens.
Governor Thomaselli
-Absent.

Governor Zuccari
-Has been working with the Center for Civic Engagement.
-Thanked Student Connections for helping with the United Way campaign.
-Thanked the Mountaineer Maniacs for their donation.
