-Vice President Napier called the meeting to order.

President Parsons
-Had a meeting with Leslie Hanning and Student Affairs about childcare. They are looking to make childcare affordable.
-VP Gray has presented a memo about the Student Wellness Initiative. It has been sent to President McGrath.
-Spoke with President McGrath about Club Sports funding.
-Governor Manchin presented WVU with a $300,000 grant to help build the Coliseum bridge.
-There will be a forum about textbook prices in the near future.

Vice President Napier
-Has been working with Brittany Fink on the International Awareness Program.
-Has been working with Student Connections on a report on the Mountainlair.
-There will be a Faculty Dinner Series at 6:00pm on October 28th. Dr. DiClerico will be presenting.

Attorney General Gutta
-No report.

Chief of Staff McIntosh
-Absent.

Chief of Staff Queen
-There has been more dialogue about student textbook prices.
-Next Wednesday at 6:30, students will be gathering to discuss textbook costs.

Director of Communications Peters
-In class.

Director of Greek Affairs Curry
-Absent.

Executive Secretary Poling
-No report.

Elections Chair Dobson
-In class.

Maniac Director Bailey
-Absent.

Outreach Director Judy
-Absent.

Outreach Director Yachini
-Encourages everyone to come out to the watch party on election night.

Off-Campus Housing Director Fink
-During Diversity Week, there was a HIV 101 presentation. About 50 students showed up.
-There will be a canned food drive November 3rd-21st.

Treasurer Greenberg
-Absent.

Student Connections Co-Chair Brummage
-Has been working with VP Napier on researching peer institutions and their student unions.
-Presented Governor Zuccari with $100 that Student Connections raised for the United Way.

V.Open Student Forum I
-Kappa Sigma will be holding a large fundraising event and is looking to get all students involved.
VI. Old Business
A. Bureau of Finance Grant Proposal 2008-14: Treasurer Greenberg
-Public Interest Advocates: Assist in purchasing postage for annual “Fall Appeal,” a statewide donation campaign. Asking for $500. No representative present.

VII.New Business
-West Virginia Rugby Club: Needs funds to travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to go to the Midwest Sweet Sixteen. The total cost will be about $1500. Time sensitive: grant passed.

-Judy Sedgeman and Sara Bishop: Gave a presentation on Electronic Student Evaluation of Instruction. They are looking to get students more engaged in the process.

– David Bruffy-Mountain Line Transit: Gave a presentation on the Mountain Line “My Bus” system. It is a digital map and time table of where the buses are located. Mountain Line is also on Google Maps. This allows people to set up itineraries for their bus trips. They are also developing a kiosk program where people can sit up itineraries.
-At the beginning of this semester, the new Valley View bus route went into effect. There are about 300-400 passenger trips per day.

– Hugh Keirig-Director of Parking and Transportation: The Department of Parking and Transportation launched WeGO about a month ago. It is a campaign for alternative transportation. They are also working on a carpool matching system and a car-sharing program.

Governor Fortunato
-Thanked everyone who participated in the Greeks vs. Student Orgs basketball games.

Governor France
-Tomorrow is the Auburn tailgate at E. Moore Hall. It will be from 11:30-1:30.

Governor Mathias
-No report.

Governor McCulloch
-Accepted a grant from Governor Manchin yesterday. It is about 10% of the estimated cost of construction.
-The DA and the Dominion Post wrote some good articles about club sports funding.

Governor Miller
-No report.

Governor Mitchell
-No report.

Governor Pearson
-Attended the Parking and Transportation meeting.
-Attended the Student Wellness Board meeting.
-During Dead Week, there will be a Spa Day at the Rec Center.
-Attended the Morgantown Pedestrian Board Meeting. They are finalizing recommendations on pedestrian issues that will be presented November 4th.
-Read an excerpt from the Dominion Post’s club sports editorial.

Governor Perry
-Had been working with Student Connections on Speak Up events. They will be going into the residence halls and getting feedback.

Governor Ramsey
-The Career Services Center is offering a 1-credit mid-semester course.

Governor Richmond
-Attended the Parking and Transportation meeting. They are working on issues with towing companies.

Governor Rogers
-Announced that many off-campus housing events will be taking place in November. Please see her if you are willing to help out.
-November 15th will be Make-Over Morgantown.

Governor Seitz
-No report.

Governor Thomaselli
-Reminded everyone to bring in items for the Canned Food Drive.

Governor Wyatt
-Apologized for his absence at the 5k Heart Walk.
-The debit card system is currently under review.
-Currently, Oglebay and Ming Hsieh Hall do not have wireless internet. This may be a future platform issue.

Governor Zuccari
-Attended the 5k Heart Walk on Sunday.
-The student campaign for the United Way has contributed over $5,700 this past week.
