SGA Report

SGA Members helping with Voter Registration Drive.SGA has collaborated with many students and organizations for the Voter Registration Drive on campus. Members have tables every Tuesday and Wednesday providing students with resources to check their voter registration status, register to vote, and request absentee ballots if needed. The Voter Registration Drive will continue until October 15th.

During Diversity Week, SGA partnered with the Art Museum of WVU to present a diversity driven showing of their exhibit, “Our Votes, Our Values.” This exhibit will be available for viewing until December 15th.


SGA Members at Naloxone Training

SGA hosted a Naloxone (Narcan) training with WELLWVU where students were all able to receive free resources and information.

SGA has been working on initiatives to help promote WVU Engage.


SGA Members at Universities United in DC

Members traveled to Washington D.C. for the Universities United event with Marshall University and our state leader.

Representatives from Barnes and Noble and the university came to our meeting to discuss First Day Complete and improvements that will be made for future semesters.

What's Next for SGA

SGA will be collecting Tabs at the Rec, Mountainlair, and HSC to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.

For October’s Month of Service, we will be competing against Marshall University’s SGA for the most donations. We will be collecting donations of canned food, books, and hygiene products.

SGA Members will be traveling to Iowa State for the SGA Big 12 Conference.

We will be doing a Safety Walk on October 8th to analyze campus safety and gather information for future improvement.

Resource Reminder

Student Legal Services is available to all full-time students who pay activity fees. They can assist with criminal Matters (advice only), landlord-tenant disputes, consumer matters, family law matters, insurance claims, contracts, wills & estate documents, expungements, powers of attorney & medical power of attorney, debt collection defense, name changes & modification of birth certificates, and legal mediation services. Their office is located in E. Moore Hall on the Downtown Area of Campus.

Member of the Month

Colin Street, At-Large Senator, received the SGA Member of the Month for his leadership of the campus-wide Voter Registration Drive running from September through October.
