Thanh M. Le, Ed.D.

ADVISOR; DIRECTOR OF STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

Dr. Thanh M. Le currently serves as the Director, Student Engagement and Leadership. Within this position he oversees the unit operations of Student Involvement and Student Leadership Development. Student Involvement provides multiple outlets for students to be engaged with the university through programs such as: Student Organizations, Student Government Association, Homecoming Court & Parade, The Student Lot, Toy Mountain, and Student Organization Leadership Development Workshops. The Student Leadership Development unit aims to provide leadership development opportunities through experiences such as: First Year Leadership Program, Peer Advising for Leadership (PAL) Mentor Program and Certified Student Leader Program. Before coming to West Virginia University in July of 2016, Thanh worked at his alma mater, University of North Carolina – Charlotte for over 6 years. While at UNC Charlotte, he served as the Interim Associate Director and Assistant Director for Special Programs, where he worked directly with Student Government Association, Class Councils, Campus Activities Board, and campus-wide programs such as Homecoming, Week of Welcome, Haunted Union, etc.

Thanh earned his B.S & M.S. in Electrical Engineering and M.S. in Engineering Management from UNC Charlotte. He graduated with his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Higher Education in May of 2019. Thanh was awarded the Outstanding Campus Activities Professional in 2015 by the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA).
