The Executive Secretary plays a pivotal role in supporting the Vice President and ensuring the smooth operation of the Student Government Association (SGA).
Their responsibilities include meticulously recording and maintaining accurate minutes of all Student Assembly and Executive Meetings, delivering typed transcripts to SGA members within ninety-six hours of each meeting. They also prepare these minutes for reference in a format determined by the Student Assembly and maintain an ongoing historical file of SGA activities. Additionally, the Executive Secretary organizes all Student Assembly and Executive records and files, including reports and resolutions, and manages the WVU SGA listserv. They are responsible for keeping accurate attendance records at all Student Assembly meetings and collaborate with the Judicial Court Clerk to document judicial actions and proceedings. Moreover, the Executive Secretary ensures transparency by posting minutes with corresponding resolutions on the SGA website, working in conjunction with the Communications Director and Chief Information Officer. Their dedication to their role is evident through their regular attendance at SGA meetings and their readiness to undertake any other duties as directed by the President and Vice President, thereby contributing significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of the SGA's operations.
