President Pro Tempore

At the inaugural meeting of the administration, which marks the transition of seats, the Student Government Association (SGA) shall elect a President Pro-Tempore through a majority vote among elected Senators. This selection occurs either during a public, open SGA meeting or at the SGA mini-retreat.

The President Pro-Tempore assumes several key responsibilities within the assembly. Firstly, they act as the Chairperson of the Assembly in the absence of the President of the Senate, thereby ensuring the smooth conduct of assembly proceedings. Additionally, the President Pro-Tempore is tasked with preparing agendas for each assembly meeting, distributing them to all members at least twenty-four hours in advance to facilitate effective deliberation. Furthermore, they prioritize representing the overarching needs of the Student Body over personal interests. Finally, the President Pro-Tempore undertakes any other duties as directed by the President of the Assembly, contributing to the efficient functioning and representation of the SGA.
