Treasurer

The Treasurer plays a pivotal role in the financial management of the Student Government Association (SGA), ensuring transparency and accountability in its fiscal affairs. Working closely with the SGA Advisor, they have access to the association's financial records and are authorized to sign relevant documents requiring the Treasurer's approval.

One of their key responsibilities is to collaborate with the SGA Advisor in formulating a comprehensive budget proposal for the Student Assembly, which is submitted to the WVU Office of Student Engagement and Leadership before June 1st each year. Additionally, the Treasurer provides regular updates on the budget by submitting monthly reports to the SGA President and Vice President, fostering informed decision-making. They also facilitate the process for student organizations to apply for grants through the SGA, promoting financial support for various initiatives. Furthermore, the Treasurer presents the Financial Bill to the Student Assembly and ensures its timely submission to the President Pro-Tempore of the Assembly prior to SGA meetings. Committed to their role, the Treasurer attends SGA meetings on a weekly basis and fulfills any other duties as determined by the President and Vice President, contributing to the effective functioning and financial well-being of the association.
